Raspberry Wheat Beer - Summer Thirst Quencher
June, 2015 Filed in: Beer making
Flavoured craft beer seems to be all the rage today. Seems like people are raving about vanilla flavoured beer, or pumpkin spiced beer. Well not to be outdone, hoe about making a Raspberry Wheat Beer. Great for thirst quenching back yard enjoyment. Here is how you make it…
Boil 1.2 kgs. of frozen raspberries in a large pot for 10 minutes. This will remove any wild yeast that may have not been killed when the raspberries were flash frozen. Add the raspberries along with the water used to boil the raspberries to the primary pail. Add the can of Black Rock Whispering Wheat to the primary pail along with one can of liquid Light Malt.
Because of the high sugars from the raspberries it might take a couple extra days to ferment in the primary. Warning, the beer that is produced is cloudy, but oh boy does it taste great. The Raspberry Wheat Beer, is screaming with raspberry flavours and sure to be a popular summer hit. This could be a starting point for other flavoured beers that you can make.
